Standard Fluorescent Liposomes
ABL standard fluorescent liposomes contain either Calcein or fluorescein
and are approx 200nm in in diameter. Further information including full
dequenching assay and precise fluorophore concentrations are with the
material in the form of product sheet.. These fluorophores are encapsulated
at self-quenching concentrations so that fluorescent signal is extinguished.
Upon trigger dequenching occurs to produce a large fluorescent signal
amplification. This signal amplification feature makes them useful for
standard fluorescent labelling applications, assays to determine membrane
disrupting properties of compounds or diagnostic application when used
with cytolytic peptides.

Product: Calcein Liposomes Lipid Composition: Egg Phosphatidylcholine/Cholesterol Appearance: Orange suspension. Solubility: Particles suspend Phosphate buffered saline while the payload is soluble. Storage: cool and away from light. DO NOT FEEZE Molar ratio 2: 1 Egg Phosphatidylcholine:Cholesterol. Lipid concentration by Stewart assay: 3 mg/ml |
![]() | Dequenching assay:Assay: 2ml isotonic buffer + 2µl liposomes. Triton added (10µl of 10% solution) to illustrate full signal release. Trace shown left. Excitation and emission wavelengths were 490 and 520nm. |
| Comments: It is recommended to use an isotonic buffer
for dilution of liposomes to prevent undue release of fluorophore. Warning: All our products are sold for Laboratory use only and not for drug, household or other use. The product is not for use in humans. | |
